II-H. SUSAN ISABELLA SIBERT (1846 – 1939), daughter of George Sibert2 (John David1)

Susan Isabelle Sibert was born on 28 June 1846 in (now) McCormick County, South Carolina. [1][2][3] She died of influenza on 29 December 1939, aged 93, at the home of her son Charles in Bordeaux, McCormick County. [2][3][4] She married first William Andrew Pennal on 16 April 1875 at the house of [her brother-in-law] L.P. Guffin. [1][4][5] He was born in 1845. [3] He died on 22 December 1877. [1][3] He is buried in the Hopewell Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Mount Carmel. McCormick County. [3] She married second Charles O. Mayson in October 1879. [1][4] Charles was born in 1848 in South Carolina. [3] He died on 28 September 1898. [1][3] He is buried in the Mount Vernon Methodist Church Cemetery in McCormick County. [3]

Isabella's death certificate and her obituary say she was the daughter of George and Adaline (Lasseter) Sibert. [2][4]

According to the census, in 1880, Charles, aged 30, and Isabella, aged 30, lived in Hibler, Edgefield County, South Carolina with their son Charles W. Pennal, aged three, and Charles's mother Susan. Charles was a farmer. They were all born in South Carolina. [6]

Isabella's obituary says she was survived by her son Charles William Pennal; two grandchildren, Mrs. W.W. Keown, Jr. and Charles W. Pennal, Jr.; and a great-grandson, William Dale Keown. [4]

II-H-1. Charles William Pennal was born on 15 July 1876 in McCormick, McCormick County. [1][2][3] He died on 14 January 1968 in McCormick. [2][3] He married Frances "Fannie" Belle Mayson. [2][3] Fannie Belle was the daughter of George C. and Kate (Sullivan) Mayson. [2] She was born on 10 June 1883 in Edgefield County and died on 12 September 1959 in McCormick, McCormick County. [2][3] Charles and Frances are buried in the McCormick City Cemetery. [3]

Charles's death certificate says he was the son of William Andrew and Susan Isabelle (Sibert) Pennal. [2]

Charles was the auditor of McCormick County. [4]
